This 16 year old golden came to us four months ago. His people took him to the shelter to be put down the day he couldn’t use the stairs anymore, and thankfully the shelter Director couldn’t bear to do it and brought him to us to live out his final days.

We guessed he had maybe two weeks of life left in him as he would not eat, could barely move and had to be helped to get up, helped to lay down to rest and his neurological function was extremely impaired causing him to stare into space and even when he was mobile, he would just circle.

We did not want to aggravate his very sensitive stomach with anti-inflammatories in the short time we thought he had, and so we started him on CBD oil as soon as he came to us, which had somewhat of a calming effect on him and seemed to help him sleep more soundly.
